Dawno nie miałam okazji wysłuchać nowej płyty, która spodobałaby mi się tak, jak ta. No dobrze, nowa to ona nie jest bo wydano ją w 2008 roku jednak ja wcześniej nie miałam okazji jej wysłuchać. Mowa tu o "Friendly Fires" zespołu o tej samej nazwie. I czemu nie dziwi mnie tu fakt, że Panowie są Brytyjczykami?
Po ten krążek sięgnęłam ze względu na niedawną premierę ich nowej, dość szeroko rozreklamowanej płyty "Pala". Chciałam jej wysłuchać mając już w głowie to, co zrobili wcześniej i wydaje mi się, że poprzeczkę ustawili sobie dość wysoko.

Na "Friendly Fires" można znaleźć bardzo dobrze wyważoną mieszankę wszystkiego, czyli coś co lubię najbardziej. Moimi faworytami płyty są "In the Hospital", "Paris", "Strobe" i "Lovesick". Ta ostatnia piosenka na początku wydawała mi się niesamowicie denerwującą, chyba przez tą boysband'ową barwę głosu wokalisty ale po czasie stwierdziłam, że właśnie to dodaje jej uroku.

Dla mnie najsłabszymi piosenkami płyty są "Photobooth" i "Ex Lover". Wydaje mi się, że gdyby zostały umieszczone z kilkoma piosenkami przerwy między sobą byłyby znośne, jednak do złudzenia podobny i praktycznie usypiający bit wybijający rytm piosenek w pewnym momencie staje się nie do zniesienia. Kiedy ich słuchałam na myśl przyszedł mi Timbaland (a to zdecydowanie nie jest pochwała) ze swoimi dziwnymi rytmami, które jakimś cudem podbijały serca milionów. Mimo wszystko, różne dźwięki elektroniczne serwowane nam w czasie obydwu kawałków w pewien sposób ratują je przed całkowitą klęską.

Chciałabym też, żebyście podzielili się ze mną swoimi opiniami, lub po prostu odezwali się i zostawili po sobie ślad na tym blogu:) Bo co jakiś czas spoglądam na licznik odwiedzin i widzę, że tam jesteście, jednak dziwne to uczucie, pisać tak w przestrzeń i nie dostawać odzewu!

I haven't had an opportunity to listen to a new CD that I would like that much as this one for a long time. Well, ok maybe it's not new because it was released in 2008, but I didn't get a chance to hear it earlier. And the CD that I'm talking about is "Friendly Fires" by the band with the same name. And why am I not surprised by the fact that the gentlemen are British?
I turned on this LP because of the recent and quite widely advertised premiere of band's latest CD "Pala". I wanted to give it a first listen having in my head what the band did on their previous long play. And I think that they set the level quite high.

There is a mixture of everything on "Friendly Fires" so in other words something I like most. My favourites are "In the Hospital", "Paris", "Strobe" and "Lovesick". The last song seemed to me to be extremely annoying at first, probably because of the very boys band alike sound of the vocalists' voice. But after a while I realized that it's a thing that makes the song interesting.

For me, the weakest pieces of the CD are "Photobooth" and "Ex Lover". I think that if they were put separately, with a couple of songs of break between them they would be bearable. Unfortunately illusively similar and sleepy bit striking the rhythm of the song at some point becomes unbearable. Those songs reminded me of Timbaland (and this definitely isn't a praise) with his weird rhythms that somehow were able to win hearts of millions of listeners. Despite that, various electronic sounds that are served to us throughout both songs somehow manage to save both pieces from a complete failure.
